Dr. Cygan, who is originally from Illinois, had a strong desire to become a dentist since the 8th grade. He actively pursued this passion by shadowing dentists and surgeons during his middle school years.
In high school, Dr. Cygan worked hard to excel academically, which eventually led to his acceptance into the University of Illinois at Chicago. His outstanding achievements also allowed him to join the GPPA program, a special pathway that offers exceptional undergraduate students direct entry into advanced professional programs.

Dr. Cygan successfully attained his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a distinguished minor in History, Cum Laude.
Subsequently, he pursued his dental education at the prestigious UIC, where he dedicated himself from 2009 to 2013 to acquiring extensive clinical expertise in patient care and honing his skills in the field of dentistry.
General Practice Residency Complete
In 2014 he completed a General Practice Residency in Rochester, New York at the Strong Memorial Hospital and Eastman Institute of Oral Health. This intensive program provided him with invaluable hands-on experience and advanced training, further enhancing his proficiency in dental care and oral health management.
Oral Surgery Internships
Driven by a strong determination to enhance his medical expertise, Dr. Cygan pursued an Oral Surgery Internship in Morgantown, West Virginia, from 2015 to 2016. This immersive experience allowed him to gain valuable knowledge and practical skills in the field of oral surgery.
Continuing his professional growth, he undertook another Oral Surgery Internship at Louisiana State University from 2016 to 2017. This experience further enriched his expertise in oral surgery, confirming his position as a competent and skilled practitioner in the medical field.
